EuroCIS from 10th - 12th February 2009 in Düsseldorf: Europe’s Leading Trade Fair for IT and Security in Retail
18/07/2008
10th – 12th February 2009 will see the retail world meet again in Düsseldorf at EuroCIS, Europe’s leading Trade Fair for IT and Security in Retail. In Halls 13 and 14 of the Düsseldorf exhibition centre in excess of 200 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will be expected on 16,000 m² gross floor space. Preparations are in full swing already since the deadline for exhibitors’ registration is 1st September, after which stand space allocation will start.
Nothing develops more rapidly than the world of IT. And nothing represents these trends in a more target-oriented and effective way than EuroCIS. This is the only place where so many companies present their expertise, their know-how, their latest solutions and future projects in such a concentrated format.
In February 2008 EuroCIS was held as a segment within EuroShop, the world’s largest investment goods trade fair for the retail industry and its partners. In between EuroShop events EuroCIS is held as a trade fair in its own right – e.g. in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
Every year suppliers and users can keep themselves posted on the latest developments in supply and demand at EuroCIS. And the ranges on display at EuroCIS are precisely geared to retailers’ needs: ranging from check-out solutions, networks, mobile and wireless solutions, stock management, supply chain management, POS technologies, weighing systems and RFID to Business Intelligence and CRM, they include cash management just as much as anti-theft and loss-prevention systems. In addition to such classics as check-out solutions or anti-theft systems the focus next year will be on such topics as internationalisation of IT systems, centralisation and integration of IT solutions, innovative payment systems (mobile payment, fingerprint etc.), green IT, digital video surveillance and digital signage solutions at the PoS.
More than 5,000 trade visitors from over 30 countries are expected. Top decision-makers from the food and non-food retail trade from all sectors, e.g. wholesale, hospitality, mail order trade, IT and security industry, consumer goods industry, financial services and banks will come to Düsseldorf, to gather information on the latest solutions and products for the retail trade at EuroCIS. This information is provided not only by the ranges displayed by EuroCIS exhibitors but also by an excellent line-up of supporting events.
10th February 2009 will see the 9th Retail Innovation Conference organised by the EHI Retail Institute (by invitation only). Top-notch executives from international retail companies will share innovative concepts, strategies and visions at this congress. Furthermore, the “EHI Wissenschaftspreis 2009” (EHI Science Prize 2009) will be awarded to outstanding scientific works that display innovative approaches and that can be transferred to the retail sector.
On 11th February 2009 the “Retail Technology Awards Europe (RETA Europe)” will be presented by the EHI Retail Institute at a grand award ceremony. These awards are presented for the outstanding and innovative use of information technology in retail.
The EuroCIS Exhibitor Forum will again be held amidst the exhibition stands on all three days of the trade fair. Here exhibitors will deliver short talks presenting international case studies and exciting new trends. Participation is free.
EuroCIS 2009 will be open to trade visitors on Tuesday, 10th February 2009, to Thursday, 12th February 2009, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm daily. Day tickets cost EUR 20.- (EUR 15 when purchased beforehand online + postage), 2-day tickets cost EUR 35.- (EUR 27 when purchased beforehand online + postage). Students and trainees pay EUR 10.-. All admission tickets double as travelcards for use on public transport within the networks of the VRR transport authority.
