Here more than 85 companies from retail and industry, IT and service sectors are collaborating on an unique project: the METRO Group Future Store Initiative. The partners are working together to take the modernisation of the retail industry to the next level.
In the Future Store a whole range of innovative technology and procedures is being tested. For example MEA, the mobile shop assistant: a mobile phone with special software, which ensures a more efficient checkout process. Or Paying by Fingerprint – quick, easy and secure. Or the intelligent refrigerator, equipped with RFID technology for quality assurance. What’s more, the concept of the Future Stores incorporates a ground-breaking open design and a new way of product presentation appealing to all the senses.
