real,- Future Store, Tönisvorst: Welcome to the Innovations Worksh op for the future of retail!
More than 90 companies from the retail trade and industry, IT and service industries are co-operating in a unique project: the METRO Group Future Store Initiative. The partners are working together to take modernisation of the retail industry to the next level. On 28th May 2008 the METRO Group opened the supermarket of the future: the real,- Future Store in Tönisvorst.
Just 18 months later operators and users are more than happy: 15% increase in turnover, 20% new customers. Customers are particularly interested in the fresh and convenience foods department. The innovative technologies are also in great demand.
For example, the mobile shop assistant (MEA) – an application for mobile phones which helps customers with their shopping. The latest attraction: the mobile shopping list for the mobile phone. This allows customers throughout Germany to produce a shopping list electronically and transfer it to their mobile.
