Price Information for Everybody - AWEK installs smartVIEWER at GLOBUS

Based on the positive experiences with about 100 installed smartVIEWER multimedia terminals of AWEK, GLOBUS plans now to install terminals with larger screens to offer physically challenged customers even better service in the future. The smartVIEWER terminals of AWEK are mainly used by GLOBUS to depict price information. AWEK is a provider of complete solutions and IT services to retailers.

Having 40 stores in Germany GLOBUS offers its customers an extraordinary shopping experience with a vast product range. In order for customers to be able to verify the current price of a certain item conveniently and quickly GLOBUS has installed gradually 16 stores with roughly 100 smartVIEWER terminals of AWEK since May 2008. Besides the pure price information, the smartVIEWER offers the option to show matching text, images, product information, or videos of an item at hand. In addition, to boost impulse buying visualizing item-based promotions via cross-selling is a great option.

Barrier-free shopping is an important focus for GLOBUS in order to enhance extensive customer friendliness. GLOBUS intents for all customers to have a good shopping experience, in particular for those, for example, with visual impairments or who need to use a wheelchair. Therefore GLOBUS plans to use larger versions of the smartVIEWER in the future in order to achieve, for example, larger fonts for more readability for everyone.

AWEK will present the new smartVIEWER versions with screens in sizes 8 ", 12", and 15” to the public for the first time at the fair EuroCIS 2010 in hll 14, booth D54.
