05/02/2010
125 years of product innovation - NCR offers new solutions for improved customer interaction and increased process automation
NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) is presenting its newest solutions for the retail and hospitality sectors at EuroCIS (March 2-4) in hall 14, booth D17. NCR’s exhibit focuses on assisted- and self-service solutions that enable retailers to increase operational efficiencies, automate processes and lower costs for maintenance and operation while enhancing the shopping experience. New models of the self-service checkout are one of the highlights of the market leader in self-service solutions. Trade show visitors can also view the first label printer offering an innovative thermal printing technology. NCR’s Managed Services and POS solutions will be displayed in conjunction with NCR channel partners at the Düsseldorf trade show.
Increased productivity and customer experience with self-checkout systems – With its current portfolio, NCR offers a solution proven over a period of 11 years that combines the self-checkout scan, bag and pay process in one system. At EuroCIS, the newest NCR SelfServ Checkout generation provides extended deployment layouts such as the compact NCR SelfServ Checkout Mini. The solution is 50 percent smaller than the standard NCR one-bag self-checkout, thus ideal for retailers who want to extend the benefits of self-checkout to more customers, or wish to augment existing self-service checkout capabilities, but have a limited amount of floor space to do so.
NCR will also demonstrates how self-service solutions can increase the shopping experience by showcasing NCR Wayfinding, a kiosk solution that enables shoppers to find products in-store with ease.
Further NCR EuroCIS 2010 Highlights
For the first time, NCR will present the NCR RealPOS™ Receipt Label Printer. The new printing solution can help food service operators identify and track orders up to 30 percent faster than traditional methods, such as tape or a grease pencil. This new printer uses NCR’s innovative, food-safe Receipt on Label thermal receipt paper, featuring zoned adhesive technology. With this technology, an optical sensor advances the paper roll to the proper point, ensuring that it never cuts through adhesive. This capability dramatically reduces paper jams and wasted paper and can increase staff productivity.
Also on display is NCR’s patented two-sided thermal printing technology (2ST). 2ST provides retailers an environmental benefit by allowing simultaneous printing on both the front and back side of a receipt, using as much as 45 percent less paper and thus reducing costs significantly.
NCR will also present its comprehensive Managed Services portfolio to ensure the highest levels of solution availability. NCR Managed Services help retailers improve the performance and operational efficiencies of their store systems. They include, for example, monitoring of the systems by regular status reports, remote, asset or lifecycle management as well as business consulting, on-site service and deposit maintenance.
Long-standing NCR channel partners will showcase solutions designed for a variety of retail segments, demonstrating NCR’s high-performance proven POS workstations such as the NCR RealPOS 70XRT and NCR RealPOS 80XRT. The latter offers a new touch screen for improved user-friendliness and optimized process flows.
