Innovative range of solutions from a single source easycash’s new solutions optimise processes, lower costs and create new services

01/03/2010

EuroCIS, Dusseldorf, Germany, March 2010. easycash continuously develops new concepts and solutions which optimise the handling of non-cash payment transactions and create new value added opportunities. Besides the introduction of issuing processing, the creation of a comprehensive credit and debit acquiring portfolio and the offer of payment authorisation for foreign networks, biometric authorisation procedures such as “fingerprint” are part of the new innovative solutions of easycash GmbH.
Acquiring Solutions: From Debit to Credit
With the purchase of the POS acquiring business of RBS WorldPay in June 2009, easycash expanded its business by acquiring of credit cards. Since then, the company has sustainably extended its activities in the field of acquiring. easycash now disposes of a complete portfolio in the field of debit card acquiring – this includes OLV®, Girocard, Maestro acquiring as well as VPAY – and it also offers acquiring for VISA and MasterCard.
Issuing Processing – A Milestone on the Way to Europe
Since August 2009, easycash is a certified issuing processor. In the course of continuous efforts to improve its range of products and solutions, the company has officially been certified by MasterCard as one of its member service providers. For easycash, the development of this new market segment is an important milestone, because from now on financial institutions are also potential customers of the group: via its subsidiary easycash Loyalty Solutions, the easycash group offers processing of so-called “branded” cards that can be used internationally. While this initially applies to Maestro cards, the processing of internationally useable MasterCard cards will start next year. By way of this, easycash becomes a full-service provider in this segment, too, and serves all interfaces including net operations and issuing processing.
Authorisation via easycash
In order to prevent payment defaults, companies which operate their own payment network can use easycash as an authorisation centre; a well-known mineral oil company is already using this service nationally. Debit card payments are routed from the petrol station operator’s network to easycash’s network where these are authorised. The basis for secure authorisation is easycash's systematically optimised risk control system for online direct debit authorisation. This touches on the extensive experience collected by easycash as the largest direct debit processor in Germany with the most authoritative blocked accounts list (blacklist) in the German market. This solution allows the optimal usage of the direct debit method with the simultaneous minimisation of risk and clear cost benefits in comparison to the electronic cash charges.
As well as the cost benefits there are also significant increases in the processing of payments. easycash processes an OLV® transaction within 250 milliseconds thereby ensuring that till throughputs are increased still further.
In combination with the factoring service OLV® Acquiring, the company effectively avoids the risk of return debit notes as well as any defaults of payments.
Fingerprint: The Future is Biometric
In a pilot market near Cologne, easycash together with the chain REWE has been testing payment via fingerprint since November 2009. The biometric authorisation process is mainly characterised by a high level of user-friendliness: Registered customers can make payments just using their fingerprint – an ec card or credit card is no longer required. As well as the increased level of comfort, this method ensures an increased cash desk flow due to reduced time spent at the cashier.
For payment, the payeasy POS payment method from easycash is used based on the OLV® online direct debiting system that has been tried and tested many times.
When saving the fingerprints, they are converted to a numerical code and so are protected from reconstruction and misuse. Additional data protection is guaranteed by two independent databases in which the fingerprint scan and the customer data are separately saved. During payment transaction, the coded data exchange of the systems takes place only by means of an anonymous reference number. After identification and authorisation using the fingerprint of the customer, the payment data is transferred to easycash under this number which is then used for direct debit payment.

1 payeasy is a POS payment method from easycash. The frontends fingerprint, digital signature or mobile telephone are provided for payment authorisation.
