Data Centre Reliability Check Successful Conclusion of easycash Mammoth Project Delta

01/03/2010

EuroCIS, Duesseldorf, Germany, March 2010. After having created a completely new IT infrastructure, easycash concluded the so-called project Delta. Conclusively, the payment service provider has carried out a verification of its sophisticated data centres within the scope of a high reliability check. The successful test run completes the large-scale project Delta and easycash will now be able to run its high-reliability data centres in their own right.
Maximum Security Check a Success
Following the completion of all renewal measures, easycash was able to carry out a high operational availability check including disaster. The verification process included a complete migration of the online transaction processing to the backup data centre in just 10 minutes, where it continued its operation productively. After six hours, the operation was successfully reverted back to the primary system. The test was carried out on recovery on October 25, 2009.
easycash operates two geographically separate data centres. All productivity, test, back-up, and recovery systems are laid out redundantly at both locations. All data is mirrored in real time in both data centres. This methodology guarantees instant availability for easycash, and therefore ensures maximum reliability at all times, which was confirmed in the successful test run.
Project Delta: IT for the Future
The Delta project was easycash’s investment into the future, ensuring that the payment provider will be able to carry out all their transactions and data processing autonomously from now on. Their main priorities lie in the further enhancement of the speed, availability and security of their services. The new methodology has for example enhanced their processing volume by a factor of four, and increased transaction speed by as much as 20%. Furthermore, the systems are scalable and can be upgraded, should the need arise.
In addition to the comprehensive change-over to state of the art server hardware and the virtualisation of numerous applications, easycash will in future rely on extensive in-sourcing and will no longer seek support from large-scale third party services. This new strategy and rigorous evaluation of their service provider and partner portfolios has resulted in a significant increase of efficiency. The project has effectively laid the foundations for a number of new easycash services, as well as for reliable and time-efficient network operation now and in the future.
