GEBIT Solutions: RFID Adaptor for Apple’s iPhone
02/03/2010
Düsseldorf, 2 March 2010 – Software and consultancy company GEBIT Solutions will be presenting an RFID adaptor specially developed for the iPhone / iPod touch at the EuroCIS Trade Fair in Düsseldorf (Hall 14 Booth C41).
GEBIT will be using an iPhone “App” to demonstrate how both sales staff and customers can use wireless technology to access additional information on products. The spectrum ranges from general product descriptions and information on ingredients to customer evaluations and tips for alternative products and also extends to encompass the checking of availability of goods in terms of such features as different sizes, colours or product versions. The system enables retailers to configure which information should be reserved for the use of their own sales staff and which information will be made available to customers via the company’s product database.
“The aim of our RFID solution for the iPhone is to provide retailers with innovative ideas and generate impetuses for new fields of mobile applications and RFID”, says GEBIT Solutions Managing Director Timo Krauss. “Interesting opportunities for deployment are opening up in such areas as emotional products – fashion, for example – as well as for consumer goods which require explanation and for everyday goods.”
GEBIT’s study presents pioneering indications as to the possible future nature of shopping and is something which retailer will need to take on board as they make their preparations. “We are helping retailer to develop target group appropriate strategies and applications to increase sales, customer loyalty and satisfaction”, adds Timo Krauss.
