Ulrich Hieber, Divisional Manager Retail at TOSHIBA TEC
TOSHIBA TEC will be presenting the expansion of its complete product portfolio at the current EuroCIS. What new products have you brought along for the retail sector?
In addition to our established POS terminals, software solutions and services, TOSHIBA TEC now offers complete solutions for kiosk systems and intelligent digital signage. In this way we are supporting retailers that rely on custom-made, innovative multi-channel strategies. The Internet, including social networks, kiosk systems and digital signage, play an increasingly important role in the individual targeting of specific customers. Thus as retail experts we have expanded our portfolio and are presenting new standard kiosk systems and software solutions at EuroCIS.
What advantages do the new standard kiosk systems offer?
Two examples show how consumers as well as the retail sector benefit from our self-service solutions. The MiMirror kiosk solution features an integrated camera that allows customers to capture their mirror image and post it on the Internet or share it with friends. This is especially interesting for the fashion retail sector. MiMirror simultaneously increases brand awareness of the retailer, which in turn tends to increase customer frequency.
Another example is our transaction-based kiosk system, which for example allows event visitors to pay for and/or print out tickets ordered in advance on the Internet without having to queue at the box office.
Do you also offer solutions for the logistics field?
We are definitely presenting our extensive line of mobile and stationary printers for labelling with barcodes or RFID. Among others we will be showing our new printer line featuring flathead print heads, as well as a printer that prints on both sides of labels.
In addition, visitors at our stand will become familiar with the entire spectrum of innovative Toshiba technologies, such as current LED lighting concepts and multi-functional copy machines.
