1. In July 2011, Better Capital joined DigiPoS with a £21 million investment. What impact does this have on your DACH business?
The biggest impact you will notice is that DigiPoS will bring many more innovations to market, over the coming months. We already have a very strong reputation for delivering reliable and cost effective EPoS systems and we will continue to build on this. Our offer this area will grow, with an extension to our “Toccare” range of all-in-one multi-touch screen systems and displays. We will also offer an even wider range of customer engagement technology, which will include new mobile solutions, digital signage and kiosks.
2. Big players like Wincor or IBM changed from hardware to solution providers with software and services even more crucial than hardware. This took them many years. Will your company change the same way?
This is a very important point. In the DACH region we believe that our relationship with solutions providers and distribution partners is very important. So in the DACH region, we will focus on bringing best of breed hardware to market through these partners. Where our partners are not able to compete with the larger players, we may decide to take a direct approach, but this will be on a case-by-case basis.
In other territories, we are already a longstanding trusted supplier to many retail customers, so we already understand what it takes to be a total solution provider. However developing and delivering industry leading hardware is our core strategy for the foreseeable future.
3. What will be your main topic at this year's fair?
This year, our topic will be “how to use technology to improve the customer experience to increase sales and loyalty”. As you know, retailing is becoming even more multichannel, with customers expecting a seamless, service rich experience, whether they shop in-store, online, at a kiosk or on their mobile.
We are looking forward to showcasing our lasted products and solutions that will help our partners and customers maximise customer service, while saving money with our elegant systems and solutions.
