AWEK and ABC Retail present a new integrated solution for self-scanning and self-payment. The know-how and the self-scanning technology required for this process is supplied by ReVison and ABC Retail whilst Motorola provides the scanners (MC17), AWEK delivers the self-payment terminal. It works as follows: After having scanned his/her customer card the customer takes a portable scanner from a shelf. Using this scanner the customers reads the bar codes of all the items while he/she puts them into the shopping cart. Hence, all necessary information (i.e. unit price/total) is already available to the customer on the scanner while shopping. Also, the hand-held can be used to advise of additional cross-selling promotions. When finished the customer goes to the self-payment terminal, scans his/her customer card again, and the receipt will automatically be displayed on the payment terminal. The customer is then led through the payment process by means of the intuitively operated user surface. After this the scanner is returned to the base.

The euroSCALE solution which is based on the POS software euroCASH is practical and functional at the same time. Owing to the integration of POS functions on the scale euroSCALE brings end-to-end processing, receipt floating, exact weighing, taring and operator management to the fresh food counter. The solution combines the entire functionality of a POS terminal with particular extras improving your customer service. Integrated processes, employee protection and sustainability - the newly designed fresh produce area by AWEK will revolutionize the workflow in your store. With the integrated process of POS and scale the days of printed thermal paper are numbered. The new process does away with limits. Instead of printing receipts at the deli counter, the customer receives a bag marked with an individual barcode. This code is scanned at the scale and POS, thus, preserving the environment and protecting your employees and customers alike from health hazardous chemicals in thermal paper.
Regardless whether the chemical Bisphenol A contained in the thermal paper is hazardous or harmless, with the process integration of scale and POS, you can dispense with thermal paper receipts in the fresh produce department completely. At the fresh food counter the process of weighing and pocketing the food is completed as usual. However, the shop assistant at the fresh food counter will no longer attach a receipt to the bag with the customer’s purchase. Instead, the staff uses a bag with an individual barcode, which is linked with the complete data of the receipt. In this case, neither your employees nor the customers come in contact with the supposedly harmful substances.
After completing the purchase at the fresh food counter, the customer can easily pay for the goods at the checkout. The POS-system recognizes the content of the bag automatically when scanning the barcode. The POS-system retrieves the receipt with the particular items via the barcode on the bag and implements the payment process as usual.
The new process integration of scale and POS represents a ground-breaking invention offering retailers manifold advantages. It is consistently eco friendly as well as of great benefit to a clear-cut image.

Mittelfristig wird der Einzug des Mobile Payment per Handy und das kontaktlose Zahlen per Karte als am wahrscheinlichsten betrachtet.
Beim Bezahlen mit Fingerprint registriert sich der Kunde einmalig und kann dann in allen Geschäften, die an das System angeschlossen sind, komfortabel und schnell bezahlen. Biometrisches Bezahlen ist keine Jugendveranstaltung. 60% der Kunden die mit ihrem guten Finger bezahlen sind 40 Jahre und älter.
